The skies above Kynren in Bishop Auckland, UK became a canvas of steam and stars, as SKYMAGIC’s 400 drones wove a dreamlike journey through 200 years of railway history. The open-air spectacle, ‘All Change’, marked the official launch of S&DR200, a festival celebrating the birth of the modern railway.

Created in collaboration with theatre company imitating the dog, the performance combined large-scale set pieces, projection mapping, original music, and over 60 live performers. Together, we created a show that drifted in and out of time, from a sea of stars becoming a wormhole through history, to a violet blossom of pride and the legendary Locomotion No.1 steaming across the sky.

This was a tribute to the railway pioneers, the dreamers, and the progress that keeps us moving forward. The Stockton & Darlington Railway set the world on track, and we had the honour of making it shine once again.
